Zoë Kravitz is slated to star in and produce new heist film The Sundance Kid Might Have Some Regrets, based on Leyna Krow’s short story of the same name. Produced through Jackson Pictured by Matt Jackson, the film is the latest in a slew of works Kravitz has starred in for Warner Bros.
What is the plot of The Sundance Kid Might Have Some Regrets?
The Sundance Kid Might Have Some Regrets centres on a pair of twin bank robbers, with one twin, Maggie, boasting supernatural powers that include telekinesis and super-strength, Her sibling orchestrates the operation while also acting as narrator of the tale. As the plot continues, Maggie begins to second-guess the life she leads when their latest heist goes astray and the pair face gunfire in the midst of a sting. Krow’s book has been described as redefining the heist genre, imbuing it with a level of science fiction through the introduction of supernatural powers.
While Kravitz will star and produce The Sundance Kid Might Have Some Regrets film, she is also currently making her directorial debut on thriller Pussy Island for MGM and recently portrayed Catwoman alongside Robert Pattinson in The Batman – a press tour with a seriously enviable wardrobe rotation from the actress. Krow’s short story Sinkhole is also being developed at universal, starring Issa Rae and Jordan Peele.
When will the film release in Australia?
A release date for the film is still to be announced by Warner Bros. however we are unlikely to see the feature until at least 2023, with the production only announced recently. However, if you’re looking to get acquainted with the work of Krow, look no further than her debut novel Fire Season, set to be released in the coming weeks.
In more exciting literary adaptations, Florence Pugh has also been announced as starring in the latest take on John Steinbeck’s East of Eden, with Netflix producing their take on the classic novel.
