The show was over, but the party was just getting started. On a night belonging to the lovers - both of each other and of a great slim-cut suit silhouette - Hedi Slimane invited an exclusive guest list to Celine’s runway presentation after party. Held at Le Dandy, the much hyped (and for good reason) speakeasy in Paris’ Saint-Germain district, photographer Olivia Renouf, takes us inside the event.
The space was styled like a 1930s sitting room, complete with red carpet and made-up beds, but this wasn’t the kind of night your grandmother would have attended. A line up of bands, including the self-described “young, hard and handsome” Way Disco (whose members were either positioned front row, or walked in, the Celine show), provided the tracks, while guests sipped on beer, ate mini burgers, and proved Slimane’s designs are best worn dancing until the morning rolls in. Guests included Parisian photographer Clara Delaporte, K-Pop star-turned-Celine muse, Lisa Manobon, and show-opener Niall Walker, who, with his enviable red tresses and boyish charm, made the case for a cropped singlet on the guys - because surely it’s time we returned the favour and let the boys borrow from our wardrobes too?
