Every once in a while there comes along a new face on the fashion scene that redefines – or perhaps, so perfectly defines – the new generation of models. And in 2024, there is no model, in our opinion, that comes close to doing so like Alex Consani.
The 21-year-old American model and social media personality has taken the fashion world and the internet by storm over the last few years, using her Gen Z humour and candour in front of camera to capture the attention and hearts of millions of fans, and dubbing her "the peoples' princess".
And just this week, she snagged a nod for Model of the Year, making her the first out trans woman nominated in the category.

Consani spent her first 17 years in California, growing up in the scenic surroundings of Marin County (in the northwestern part of the San Francisco Bay).
According to The Independent, after attending a summer camp for trans youth, which her mother had arranged, she came back with a clear direction for the next chapter of her life: modelling.
At 13 years old Consani signed with Slay Model Management, an agency that centring its efforts on young trans models.

At 19, Consani was signed to IMG and moved to New York City at 20 years old to continue to pursue her career, walking for brands like Thom Browne, Alexander McQueen, Versace and Mugler.
She was also cultivating an online personality and cult following on TikTok in 2020 during the COVID, posting hilariously candid, weird and raw content backstage, and in her personal life under the usernames @CaptinCroook and @Ms.Mawma.
