In this moment: a vision of rural Australia

A moment in time. A vision of the dry, open plains of the Australian landscape.

A project that brought together local creatives in order to highlight the beauty of Queensland and its designers. Photographer, Brie Conomos shares inspirations and hopes for the future.

"This collaboration was created to highlight and execute an ethereal fashion editorial, pushing the creative boundaries with the limitations of our current climate. As aspiring creatives transitioning from being completely booked out to having their creative abilities limited, it became a suitable time to showcase and display the ways the team could create a fashion editorial shoot without being in a ‘high-fashion capital’ as such.

"The team each represent different areas of the creative field. Nyssa Johnston working as a stylist and artist, and Brie Conomos as a photographer. The whole crew were currently meant to be overseas in Europe and America working in their separate creative fields. The present situation obviously put a hold to those plans, allowing time to creatively produce and direct a shoot to highlight the rural beauty of Queensland along with local Brisbane Designers.

"The gorgeous face of this editorial is model Asher Cooper, who perfectly fit the vision of this high fashion collaboration. The whole team was passionate about showcasing not only the beauty of rural Australia, but also highlighting the importance of cultural diversity.

"This time of quarantine and lockdown has proved to be restricting. It's presented many challenges to the fashion and creative industries. The overall concept of this shoot was to show and encourage other creatives to keep producing content that inspires them. The beautiful Brisbane labels White Label Noba, Bulley Bulley and Vintage finds from Swap allowed the team to create and execute their vision of an ethereal, fashion editorial."
