The beauty industry is constantly evolving, new innovations and brands cropping up weekly. One that has been available in Australia since late 2021 is Gucci Beauty, a considered range of beauty essentials intimately crafted by the luxury Italian House. From opulent casing to colours harking back to an era of ornate glamour, the beauty range has become a highly-sought after collection coveted by those with an affinity for makeup, fragrance and skin care. But, just what is Gucci Beauty? Allow us to run you through the range and where you can shop in Australia.
What is Gucci Beauty?
While we may know Gucci for its Bamboo handbags and eclectic, opulent runway shows, the beauty range is the latest component of the House allowing consumers to immerse themselves in the world of Gucci. As per its website, the intentions behind the range "envisions true expression within a line of makeup, men's fragrances and women's fragrances." It is a comprehensive beauty range available to shop globally.
When was it launched?
Gucci first launched beauty in November 2014, with a line consisting of almost 200 lip, face and eye products. However, the generation of Gucci beauty currently sweeping the industry was first released in 2019 under the creative directorship of Alessandro Michele. In what was a natural progression from the launch of fragrances – including Bloom by Gucci and its derivatives – the beauty range has become an iconic symbol of the brand on its own, known for its staple aqua and floral casing with gold accents. Not only is it pleasing on the skin, it’s certainly pleasing as part of the content of makeup cases. Campaigns have featured a cast of Gucci ambassadors, including dream girls Dakota Johnson and Miley Cyrus.
What products does the range carry?
Since releasing in 2019, Gucci Beauty has grown into a fully-fledged beauty line covering all bases requisite for a complete case. In October 2021, the brand launched its inaugural eyeshadow palette, comprising of twelve pans with satin, metallic and matte shades named with floral motifs in mind.
One of the best-selling products included in the range is the Poudre de Beauté Éclat Soleil Powder – or colloquially, bronzer – renowned for its buttery texture and subtle dusting when applied across cheeks, temples and forehead.

Alongside this, the Gucci matte lipsticks have become cult items to own, with their intense colour payoff and soft, velvety texture ensuring they have been refined intimately for use on lips. All shades are crafted to be pigment-dense, meaning the colour is vibrant and longer lasting, and we will be adding them to cart for our next event.

Of course, no beauty range is complete without a foundation offering and the Gucci Beauty version of this embodies luxury quality. Its natural finish and buildability make it a versatile staple to have in your makeup case, meaning you can switch between full coverage for an evening event or a light, dewy complexion during the day.
Gucci Beauty’s foundation is formulated with Polymer Technology, providing a transforming texture for seamless application, alongside Soft-Focus Powder technology, blurring the look of imperfections and fine lines. The formulation also contains glycerin – a powerhouse active ingredient we know all too well – improving skin-barrier function.

Gucci Beauty also offers a range of lip liners – Crayon Countour de Lèvres – with three colour variations, eyebrow pencils – Crayon Définition Sourcils – mascara and powders. A range of lip balms has recently released, leaving lips supple for hours after application alongside a range of heavily-pigmented nail polish we are itching to get out hands on – literally.
Where can I shop Gucci Beauty in Australia?
Gucci Beauty can be shopped in Australia direct from Gucci boutiques and its online store. However, it is also found at David Jones and Sephora across the country, both online and in store. Considering Australia often misses out on in-store beauty offerings from international brands, we’re certainly pleased to see we can walk into stores and trial the products before purchasing.
