For our latest issue of RUSSH Magazine, we channelled the spirit of fashion icon (and bibliophile) Coco Chanel and travelled to Paris with avid book reader Alexandra Agoston, wearing Chanel Haute Couture AW 19 to capture a moment in time. Above the constant hum of the bustling Rue de Rivoli, our light-filled studio provided the perfect retreat with Parisian embossed walls and wide windows to watch the world go by.
Alexandra has already graced our cover in previous issues and we were captured yet again by her poise and charm as she glided through the apartment with ease, as if it were her own home. One of her favourite authors Joan Didion once wrote “We tell ourselves stories in order to live,” which we couldn’t help but draw upon as we reflected on all the narratives that make up our own lives as the sun began to set.
In this film, a soft and moody soundtrack accompanies Alexandra’s movements as she twirls in Chanel Haute Couture over herringbone floorboards, before striding down a tree-lined boulevard at dusk in a classic tweed suit.
As the night drifts on, we’re reminded of that feeling of becoming hooked on a good read, one that you just can’t put down even as your eyelids become heavy and the clock passes midnight.
