We may have been busy this month at RUSSH HQ pumping out our first-ever Beauty Annual and our soon-to-be released third issue of RUSSH Home, but that doesn't mean we haven't found the team this month to indulge in some good old fashioned media consumption.
Whether delving into some new-release books, or digging into our Spotify archives to listen to some oldies-but-goodies, the RUSSH team are ready to share all the gems they've been watching, listening to and reading during the month of July with you, below...

Watch… Sunny. Because I adore Rashida Jones and Japan. This has both, and it’s very good.
Read…I’ve just finished Blue Sisters by Coco Mellors. I think I liked her first book Cleopatra and Frankenstein a little more, though both felt quite similar. I enjoyed it, I didn’t adore it. I also read Green Dot by Madeleine Gray. This I did love.
Listen…Cheree by Suicide and various Agatha Christie titles on the Audible app.

Watch… If I am left alone on a Sunday and facing chores, my little treat is to have documentaries constantly playing on my laptop, not particularly challenging ones, often quite silly ones. There is a series called In The Shadows, which is about secret societies that I thoroughly enjoyed as I blitzed the kitchen. I’ve also been perversely fascinated with Dirty Pop, which is about the rise of boy bands in the 1990s. Very different subject matter to my usual music documentaries, but quite fun in that Netflix over the top documentary way.
Read… As most of my books are still in boxes post-move, I have been reading Classic French Recipes by Ginette Mathiot and have already managed to spill cooking wine on it. I have also been reading our new Beauty Annual and insist that you do the same.
Listen… I’ve been listening to The Melodrones new single, No Good Memories, a lot of local radio and some Jesus and Mary Chain ahead of their show this week.

Watch… Aliens (1986). Sigourney Weaver forever.
Read… Ellie’s Table by Ellie Boudhana. Yes, I know it’s a cookbook, but I’m still reading it like a novel.
Listen… Charm by Clairo. The yin to my brat yang.

Consumer Revenue Manager
Watch… Emily in Paris. I fell off the wagon a while back, so I had half of season 2 to watch. And it’s perfect timing in anticipation of S4 in August.
Read… I have been on a romantasy train lately, and it isn’t anywhere near close to stopping. I’ve read Fourth Wing and Iron Flame in the last week and I’m also onto the Throne of Glass series as of this morning.
Listen… I’m still obsessed with the brat album – finding it a great motivator in getting through my chilly winter walks.

Watch… In between work and a move, I haven’t caught anything on-screen in a minute. When I’ve got a spare moment, I hope to finally tick School of the Holy Beast by Norifumi Suzuki off my watchlist. It’s lived there for half of the year.
Read… My dear friend has gifted me a copy of Lillian Faderman’s Surpassing the Love of Men, which interweaves the works of Louisa May Alcott, Emily Dickinson, Henry James, Sarah Orne Jewett. I’ll be sinking straight into that after I finish Sofia Coppola: Archive, which is every much a visual delight as it is a loric overview of her film career.
Listen… My pod consumption correlates directly upwards with the colder seasons. I’ve been blitzing through old episodes of You’re Wrong About and BOF (Business of Fashion), my absolute favourites. For my gravitationally opposed listening needs, I’ve got Ari Lennox on rotation, the melodies of Christian Gaubert, and Calvin Harris’ Slide when I need to pump my fist.

Watch… Still watching House of Dragons (of course), but I also recently watched A Quiet Place: Day One. I watched it on a Friday night after quite a big day, and it was definitely not the right movie to decompress to. I have never been so sad and stressed in a movie before. But overall a very good movie, with insane acting. Like most of the world, I watched the trailer for Gladiators 2, and while it still doesn't get released till November, I am seated, I am sat, waiting in the cinema with my jumbo popcorn and maltesers already.
Read… RecipeTin Eats, while I haven’t picked a book up in a month, I have been reading and making some recipes. Particularly Nagi’s bolognese and stir fry.
Listen… On loop, is a mix of the band Inhaler, Phoebe Bridgers and Suki Waterhouse. Some pretty Indie Rock music.

Creative Studio and Campaigns Manager
Watch… I saw MaXXXine, Ti West and Mia Goth’s final instalment of the X trilogy in cinemas last week. I love this trilogy, and all way that the characters weave together. I feel like this one wasn’t as scary as its counterparts, but maybe I was just hyper vigilant. Still loved it tho, and am keen to binge the three of them all at once to really get the full effect.
Read… The new RUSSH Beauty Annual of course!!!
Listen… Favourite by Fontaines DC, on repeat over and over and over. It cures any winter blues in about three seconds flat.
