Creative director Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maison Valentino have not been short of any surprises. Following on from the Maisons text-only campaigns and punk FW21 presentation at The Piccolo Teatro di Milano, this time Maison Valentino and longtime friend, American-born designer and author Betony Vernon get sex-positive, in its new edition of The Boudoir Bible, coinciding with the provocative narrative of Valentino's Rockstud Alcove Valentino Garavani accessories.
Erotic, inclusive and everything pillow talk, The Boudoir Bible, written by sexual anthropologist Betony Vernon, will be reimagined in its new edition and collaboration with Maison Valentino, delivering a unique and seductive experience to femininity, empowerment, bondage and erotic sex-play. Each edition personalised with a custom Valentino Rockstud Alcove sleeve, the collaboration will be made available at carefully selected erotic bookstores worldwide from Paris, Madrid, Milan, London, Los Angeles, New York to Seoul.
"Betony’s pioneering and classy approach to erotism and sensual pleasure meet the seductive world of Rockstud Alcove introducing a new idea of femininity that grants the willingness to be romantic and powerful, graceful as well as fierce... A celebration of the provocative, an ode to the creative feminine and the divine power of love," the brand states in a recent press release.
In celebration of its collaboration with Vernon's The Boudoir Bible, Maison Valentino heightens desirability and the power of sexuality toying with voyeurism and kink, with a mysterious peep box featuring a hallway of mirrors to provocatively house the Rockstud Alcove Valentino Garavani bag starring in its own keyhole peep show.
"To enter the world of the provocative a mysterious peep box has been conceived to secretly admire these new objects of desire in a bizarre game of voyeurism: a play of glances and mirrors, inside and outside, cracks to peek through without being seen," the brand concludes.
Furthering its partnership, the voyeuristic spin will continue in-stores, with the concept moving from in-store installation to window displays. For more information on Maison Valentino x Betony Vernon The Boudoir Bible collaboration, head to valentino.com.
