Extravagance, spontaneity and unbridled expression. Pierpaolo Piccioli’s Resort 21 Diary Collection for Valentino is a vibrant and lustrous affair.

Defined by simplification, Resort 21 begins by reducing shapes to a simple outline, letting material speak through colour, texture and lines that materialise through painstaking workmanship. Clothing and the individual become one, creating freedom of movement and endless possibilities.

Flat, geometric and loose-fitting shapes result from a thoughtful and refined process - the mastery of cut. Collection pieces cross over from the masculine to the feminine, cut just so, making the fabric seem to be barely laid on the wearers body. Everything flows and can be spontaneously assembled in a number of unique ways.

A palette of solid and vibrant colours form shades of green, red and pink, composing a silhouette that is fluid, relaxed and lean. A uniform dressing feel is accentuated through tunics, tops, trousers and capes. Minimalist and refined.

Accessories feel like the collection hero. Flowers, bows and studs in leather feature on the Valentino Garavani Atelier bags and shoes, fusing the historic and contemporary signatures of Valentino. A special edition for the season, Valentino Garavani’s iconic Rockstud undergoes a refreshed makeover. A new twist on a classic, the Valentino Garavani Roman Stud bag is a bold statement piece for Resort 21.

The campaign photographs were lensed by none other than Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli himself. Featuring models Mariacarla Boscono and Luca el Bali, Pierpaolo decided to shoot and feature in his home in Nettuno, Italy. Free, light-hearted and fun, the imagery complements the relaxed and vibrant nature of the Resort 21 Collection. A unique story of personal emotions without filters.
