True crime fans listen up! Two of our favourite silver screen darlings have teamed up for a brand new crime thriller series for Hulu, called Under the Bridge.
Oscar nominee Lily Gladstone and Daisy Jones and the Six star Riley Keough are both taking on roles in the new series, which is based on a 90s true crime event that was adapted into a fictional series by Rebecca Godfrey. If the trailer is anything to go by, it's giving big whodunnit energy, and seems likely to offer plenty of surprise twists and unexpected turns.
For everything we know so far about the series, read on.
What is the plot?
The series is based of a true crime event – Reena Virk, a fourteen-year-old girl, who went to join friends at a party in Vancouver Island, Canada, and never returned. Seven teenagers were accused of her murder – and Under the Bridge is based on the late Rebecca Godfrey's bestselling book about the 1997 event.
Godfrey herself is portrayed in the film, as we see the crime unfold through her eyes, and the eyes of a local police officer.
Who is in the cast?
Godfrey will be played by CHANEL muse Riley Keough, and Lily Gladstone will play Officer Bentland. There are also a suite of young actors involved in the project, including Javon "Wanna" Walton from Euphoria, Chloe Guidry and Izzy G. There's also writer and artist Aiyana Goodfellow, Ezra Faroque Khan and Archie Panjabi involved.
When will it be released?
The series is streaming from 17 April 2024 on Hulu in the US. However, with Australians usually finding the bulk of Hulu's programming on Disney Plus, we're expecting we'll find it online a little later.
