America's favourite non-astronaut space boy rapper, Travis Scott has made a move into the realm of beauty, with a collaboration with luxury brand, Byredo. As we know it, Byredo is most famous for their perfume and candle range, with cult scents like 'Bibliotheque' and 'Mojave Ghost'. Now, the brand has teamed up with Scott to introduce 'Space Range', a fragrance and candle duo that is said to smell like the galaxy...whatever the galaxy smells like.
The product itself has arrived in a celestial gradient of purple-to-blue with handwritten branding spelling 'Space Range Travx', which looks more like Scott's daughter Stormi wrote it rather than a grown man (I said what I said.). As mentioned, the scent is said to smell like "scent of Supernova" and while we haven't had the chance to have a whiff ourselves, the notes of “Cosmic dust, Antimatter particle, Starlight” and a base of “Atmospheric vapour, Dark nebulae,” haven't quite got us sold just yet. Here we were always thinking space smelled like CO2. Perhaps Neil Armstrong can weigh in from beyond.
Byredo has been involved in some other exciting collaborations and releases this year, with their launch of Byredo beauty - a beauty extension of fragrance featuring packaging that you'd want to own just for the packaging; a candle collaboration with IKEA - where accessibility merged with luxury for a collection of 13 candles presented in handmade-looking ceramic vessels; and new releases of leather accessories to add to the brands growing offering of classic, everyday silhouettes.
Looping back to the collaboration at hand, if you dare to find out what space smells like to Astro-boy himself, the Travis Scott X Byredo perfume and candle can be purchased online exclusively at the Byredo and Travis Scott websites. Get in fast, because this one seems to be 'blasting off' the shelves.
