Tiffany & Co. is paying tribute to iconic artist Jean Schlumberger, with the final chapter of Blue Book 2024: Tiffany Céleste.
Schlumberger is an icon of the jewellery world and, throughout his illustrious career, leant his artistic genius to whimsical, elegant High Jewellery designs. In particular, some of his most memorable creations were born out of his partnership with Tiffany & Co., which began in 1956. Now, the House is honouring this collaboration, with four new chapters: Owl on a Rock, Phoenix, Unicorn, and Star Burst.
“Each chapter began with an intensive study of the subjects or themes that inspired it,” explained Nathalie Verdeille, Chief Artistic Officer, Tiffany & Co. “For the fall launch of Tiffany Céleste, the Star Burst, Phoenix, Owl on a Rock and Unicorn chapters reference archival Jean Schlumberger masterpieces, such as his Phoenix brooch. Each new design is an ode to Jean Schlumberger’s boundless creativity.”
Perhaps the most famous reference to Schlumberger’s repertoire is Owl on a Rock, which reimagines the iconic Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany ‘Bird on a Rock,’ via series of brooches featuring owls perched on various gemstones.
Then there’s Phoenix, which reinvigorates another of Schlumberger’s brooch designs with a modern twist: the hues of a Phoenix’s flames are depicted through fiery gemstones, from Umba sapphires to rubellites, while black opal and diamonds represent new life, which is also expressed in a matching ring.
Unicorn draws on Schlumberger’s imaginative Crazy Twist designs, honing in on the mythical creature’s horn, via intertwining displays of rich purple and pink sapphires.
And Star Burst is an ode to the brilliant luminosity of the sky, depicted through crystal opals surrounding by diamonds that radiate outwards, like the constellations of a galaxy.
The House will also welcome new designs from the previously unveiled chapters of Blue Book 2024: Apollo, Arrow, Ray of Light and Shooting Star. Each of these new creations rediscover Schlumberger’s iconic interpretations of the sun, moon, stars, distant galaxies and fantasy worlds, respectively.
The final chapters of Blue Book 2024: Tiffany Céleste are set to be unveiled at an exclusive event in Madrid.
