I know a girl. Harry Styles took them on the road for the Australian leg of his world tour, and here photographer Kitty Callaghan captures The Preatures frontwoman Isabella Manfredi in stolen moments backstage and playing to crowds in those Dior boots.
“Harry tweeted his love for Is This How You Feel about five years ago. He was still a teenager and in 1D. We thought it was pretty funny at the time … But he’s stayed a fan and then when he asked us to be on the tour in Australia, it was kind of a no-brainer for us. He’s developing now into an artist with true class, but hasn’t lost any of that charm and humour that made 1D a force.”
"I wore Dior. I love Maria Grazia Chiuri’s designs. She has a great romanticism and strength. The leather playsuit is like a soft armour, and I felt this look captured everything about The Preatures woman and the music: the shirt is rock, the playsuit pop, the fishnets a bit of punk, and it’s all grounded in country with the boots. Solid."
"It’s been a while since we’ve played in Arenas. We’re a totally different band now; a true unit or an animal with wings. I was still nervous though! And Sydney – the big one. Hometown shows are always a string of nerves. I had a little champagne before the show. Did my makeup and warmed up in the big-tiled bathroom where these shots were taken."
"Kit [Callaghan] is one of my best friends so I always feel very comfortable in front of her. If she asks me to get up on a plastic Coke bin, I’m not gonna feel weird, I’m just gonna do it."
Following the release of the Jack Moffit mix of their single Magic, The Preatures will embark on their largest tour to date, the National Magick Tour - kicking off on June 16 in Geraldton, WA, and wrapping up on September 8 in Alice Springs, NT. The regional tour spans 40 dates across four months, with Melbourne singer-songwriter Ali Barter supporting.
