Musical powerhouses in their own right, Didirri and Ro have coupled up and combined their sound for new single, Tea Stains. A song about love, friendship, and what happens when they get merged into one complicated bundle. And tea, of course. More accurately, the power a good cup of tea has to help our emotions spill out onto the kitchen table. The silky smooth voices of Didirri and Ro together form a smooth blend of timbres akin to a good cup of Earl Gray. Twirling around on a rotating floor, the couple weave in and out of each other, becoming bonded then separate with some subtle yet effective editing, and with quirky dance moves thrown in for good measure.
Here, the pair share with RUSSH some behind the scenes moments from the making of Tea Stains. Watch the film clip below.
"I enjoy the way that Ro’s personality is in contrast to mine. A ying and yang of sorts." - Didirri
"It was funny trying to walk on a rotating floor in heeled boots, I kept getting dizzy and looking grumpy while I sang the song. I popped silver converses on instead so I could dance around a bit. How could you not dance on a rotating floor to that song?" - Ro
"The song captures something curious and playful. I like to imagine it as a quirky anthem for the over-thinkers of romance. That kind of thing is exactly my cup of tea (ha ha)." - Ro
"I very much enjoyed playing with classic metaphor, I.e. running circles around each other. This representing collaboration and mysterious intrigue for an opposite personality." - Didirri
"This concept also presented a challenge for the director, when you have a spinning floor the lighting is constantly changing on the subject. Peter has always been up for a challenge." - Didirri
