It's time to pull out your cerulean sweaters... 'The Devil Wears Prada' is returning for a sequel

Miranda is back in the building. I repeat, Miranda is back, and on her way to returning back onto our screens.

Time to knuckle down between cerulean and azure. Make sure the steak is warmed up, and butter-knife tender to sink into. And if your mind is on Paris, get ready to take part in some old fashioned saboteur work.

Word on the street has been percolating, and now we can confirm the good news. The hit film The Devil Wears Prada – already reincarnated as a hit Broadway musical – will indeed continue in sequel form, thanks to the help of Disney and original screenwriter Aline Brosh Mckenna. Below, we break the scoop on the certifiably RUSSH film that shaped all of us, here.

What is The Devil Wears Prada sequel going to be about?

Runway Magazine is no longer. At least, that's what we know. In the face of traditional media decline (tell us about it...), Priestly is clamouring her way back to the top, now positioned against Emily, who has become a marketing maven with a surplus of advertising dollar to spend.

Who will star in the sequel?

Will Miranda, Andy and Emily be present? According to Deadline, we've received joyous confirmation that Meryl Streep (fresh from her stint on Only Murders in the Building alongside Steve Martin and Selena Gomez) and Emily Blunt will be back to reprise their respective roles as Miranda Priestly and snooty assistant in command, Emily Charlton.

There has been no word of style icon Anne Hathaway taking the mantle of Andy Sachs again, but a girl can dream. We'll let you know as soon as she's plucked her phone from the fountain to take a call.

Who will be be producing the sequel?

Aline Brosh Mckenna is in talks to do the follow-up script, and the film will likely be produced by Oscar-winning producer Wendy Finerman. There's also snuffed whispers that Patricia Field is also returning as costume designer for the sequel, which is the most jubilant news of all.

When will it be released?

The film is still in very early stages of production, writing and casting, so we don't have any definitive timelines for release just yet. But we'll keep you updated as we know more (and our fingers are crossed for a late 2025 release).
