Few people know how to party quite like The Dare. If you don't yet know him by name, you'll surely be well acquainted with his music, from the instant 2023 hit Girls, to Charli XCX's iconic track, Guess, which he produced. But in addition to keeping us fed with his dynamic electrocrash sounds, the one-man act is also renowned for hosting his infamous Freakquencies club nights, featuring unparalleled live performances and DJ sets by the man himself.

So adept at throwing a party that draws the coolest of cool clientele, The Dare has even caught the attention of fashion heavyweights Celine and Gucci. The former invited him to soundtrack a party in Los Angeles (following an aptly-titled fashion show, 'The Age of Indieness'), while the latter sat him in the front row of a runway show (next to Nick Cave, no less).

Typically, Freakquency nights take place in exclusive haunts of New York City – but what happens when they descend on Melbourne? Recently, the American musician brought his indie sleaze charm Down Under, and RUSSH was given inside access. Below, see inside the night that was, as The Dare and Melbourne's fashion and music insiders took over Miscellania.
