Ever since Euphoria and a Red Scare-inspired performance on The White Lotus, we've been inclined to track the career moves of Sydney Sweeney. Just recently, the 25-year-old actress was announced as the face of Armani Beauty's latest latest fragrance My Way, and it looks like the new roles just keep on coming. This time around, though, Sydney Sweeney is making the pivot to romcoms (we told you the genre was making a comeback!), and not just any either, but the kind helmed by Will Gluck – the director who brought us Easy A and Friends with Benefits. All the details, below.

Sony has acquired the upcoming project, which is so far untitled. Given that the news has only just been announced, there's not a great deal of detail to go off. What we do know however, is that Sweeney's co-star is the 34-year-old beefcake Glen Powell, who you may recognise from films such as Top Gun: Maverick and Hidden Figures.

Oh, and there's also word that the upcoming film is intended to be R-rated according to Deadline. Now, the jury is out on whether this is meant in a horny, 50 Shades of Grey kind of way or a bad language, send the kids out of the room sort of thing. Personally, I've got my fingers crossed for the former, especially since Sweeney and Powell make for a sexy onscreen pairing, if only a touch on the golden retriever side. Sadly, we'll have to sit tight a little longer for any meaty details.

In the meantime, Gluck has consulted Sweeney's Euphoria filming schedule, and the untitled romcom is set to begin production at the end of February 2023. Until then, we'll satisfy ourselves by revisiting Nate and Cassie. Although, whether that is actually satisfying is up for debate. We'll be here to update you when we know more.
