It seems that while we were busy fantasising about a skin-baring, hot vax summer we forgot to factor in La Niña — the weather phenomenon responsible for this persistent rain — which has quite literally poured cold water on all of our beach plans. No matter. As well-seasoned Sydney-siders will know, there are indeed other ways to spend a summer in this city that don't orbit around the sand and sun. One of them being the annual Sydney Festival; which in its 45th year holds the unique position as a destination for all things arts and culture in the month of January.
Taking up its usual slot between 6 – 30 January 2022, Sydney Festival will have sessions and entertainment at venues all across the city and surrounding suburbs. As always, Carriageworks will be a hub for the festivities and will host a series of artworks, namely from Wiradjuri artist Karla Dickens, photographer Cherine Fahd and Dean Cross.

While Girl From The North Country will arrive at Theatre Royal Sydney after sold out seasons on Broadway and the West End.
