Our next Full Moon arrives on 13 February early in the morning at 12:53am AEDT. As such, it will appear full on both the evenings of 12 and 13 February. It comes to us in the fiery sign of Leo.
Traditionally, this Moon is known as the Snow Moon. It's named for the typically heavy snowfall that would come around this time in the Northern Hemisphere. Of course, the name seems slightly at odds for those of us in the Southern Hemisphere where it is summer.
What to expect from the Full Moon in Leo
Thee zenith of the Moon Cycle, Full Moons are known to be intense. They stir emotions, energising the themes of the current cycle, whilst also offering illumination. Full Moons can reveal hidden undercurrents, providing a moment for enlightenment — if we're willing to embrace it. This phase is also the time to harvest the fruits of manifestations sewn during the New Moon, inviting transformative and purifying experiences.
Of course, this Moon comes under Leo's influence, infusing us with confidence and a zest for self-fulfilment. It's a mix of joy and intense passion, urging even the shyest among us to give into our guilty pleasures, whether that's impulsively booking a holiday or cancelling your plans and staying in with a book instead. These energies very much encourage indulgence in our desires. Especially, as the Moon squares off against Uranus, which has the tendency to encourage erratic behaviour.
A Moon in Leo will always seek to draw out our main character energy, however deeply it may be buried. This indulgent energy can allow us to spend more time focusing on filling our own cups rather than those around us. For the people pleasers among us, this is an important reset. Those with strong water placements in their top three will often find themselves pouring love and compassion into the people around them. But your well is not endless, and you need to take time to refill.
Be open to feedback and keep your focus
If you are someone who is naturally inclined to putting themselves first ordinarily, watch out that the Leo Moon doesn't make you single-minded and desperate for the approval of other people. Your drive should come from within and not be dependent on external praise.
At the same time, Leo Moons can also incite an unwillingness to accept feedback. This will only do you damage in the long run. Criticism, when it comes from those who care about you, is almost always given with your best interests in mind. Remain receptive to it. Accepting criticism, whether from colleagues or friends, can be challenging, yet it opens doors to personal growth and self-realisation.
Be wary of overindulgence, teetering on the edge of self-destruction, especially with the strong Aquarius placements in the sky (the Sun, Mercury and Pluto) has igniting a rebellious spark. While the allure of immediate satisfaction is tempting, maintaining focus on long-term goals is essential. For those naturally inclined to be lead by their passions already (yes, Fire Signs, we mean you), we advise that you approach the Leo Moon caution and clarity in your intentions. It’s crucial to stay focused on what you wish to gain during this period, as distractions may lead you astray. Choose wisely where you decide to place your focus, attempting to split your attentions will not work.
If you find yourself struggling to maintain balance, just know, it's not long before the Moon moves into Virgo allowing us to ground ourselves.
