The recent Californian wildfires threw uncertainty over the future of some our favourite shows — including Apple TV+ favourite, Shrinking. The hit series, which follows therapist Jimmy (Jason Segel) as he navigates life following his wife's death, has become one of the streamer's most-beloved shows.
Shooting so far has always taken place in Pasadena and Altadena — two areas that were significantly impacted by the devastating fires. Naturally, this cast doubt on how and when production for season three would continue. However, star Christa Miller has taken to Instagram to share that shooting will forge ahead, and sooner than expected.
"Next week we start shooting season three of Shrinking in Los Angeles, in the heart of Pasadena," she said in the video.
"Its a really special moment for our cast and crew, because not only do we shoot in Pasadena, we [also] film in Altadena. After the devastating fires that hit Los Angeles, it feels more important than ever to support all the communities that have been affected. This is the city where magic happens, stories are told, and dreams come true. And that's why our show is staying here. Here's to resilience, to new beginnings, and to Los Angeles, the beating heart of the entertainment industry. And we cannot wait to show you what we have in store for season three."

What is Shrinking season three about?
Naturally, we don't yet know what season three will entail. But with all episodes of season two now streaming, we have some theories. For Jimmy and his daughter Alice (Lukita Maxwell), season two was all about forgiveness, particularly when it came to Louis (Brett Goldstein), the man who drunkenly killed their wife and mother.
Season two also saw Paul (Harrison Ford) take big steps in his relationship with Julie (Wendie Malick), while also grappling with his worsening Parkinson's disease.
Plus, Sean (Luke Tennie) had a relationship blossom with Paul's neurologist Dr Sykes Amy Rosoff), while Gaby (Jessica Williams) let down her walls with boyfriend Derrick (Damon Wayans Jr). And finally, Brian (Michael Urie) is gearing up to adopt a child with Charlie (Devin Kawaoka), and Liz (Miller) is officially on board to babysit.
When will Shrinking season three air?
If everything runs according to schedule, filming should commence this February, and wrap around May. That means Shrinking season three could hit our screens in late 2025, or early 2026.
