A ‘RUSSH’ editor shares her September fashion favourites and why you should shop them too

The first thing you need to know about me is that I am first and foremost, not a winter girl. Yes, I am certainly an admirer of the collections that make their way down the runways during the February and March season, but as far as my personal style goes, my wardrobe operates best when the temperature is 24 degrees and above. So, it should come as no surprise that my fashion favourites for the month of September were... lengthy. But, since I know we don't have all day, I've managed to cull them down to the top 10-ish pieces I haven't been able to stop thinking about. So, let's get started.

Longchamp Le Roseau S Handbag

A new season calls for a new handbag purchase, and considering it's still a little too chilly to enter raffia territory just yet, I have been in love with the Longchamp Le Roseau S Handbag. I am a total sucker for an east-west silhouette, and with this style first released in the early 90s, I can't help but be drawn to its nostalgic sensibilities. In this colour, it's my dream neutral bag – more cool-toned than warm, it fills a much-needed hole in my 'everyday-to-evening-wear' pieces.

Van Cleef & Arpels Frivole Pendant

Jewellery has always been my kryptonite, and after enjoying a very special Ikebana workshop, I have developed a particular love for Van Cleef & Arpels iconic Frivole collection. The sculptural intrigue and interest of each petal and detail has brought me a new appreciation for jewellery that celebrates our flora and fauna; and as the masters of spring, the Maison's most recent collection is nothing short of mesmerising. Treat yourself (I say to myself, and you).

Shona Joy Hadiya Asymmetrical Long Sleeve Ruffle Maxi Dress

Only a couple of weeks ago, I paid a visit to the Shona Joy's headquarters for a first look at the brand's new Eclipse collection. However many days later and I am still thinking about this maxi dress. As we're still in spring, I appreciate a piece that still has a little sleeve and can be paired with a closed-toe shoe when the temperature drops.

Celine Small Jewels Case

It's the season for travelling, (or at least it will be when I head overseas in June 2025), but I'm planning ahead to ensure that my most precious and cherished pieces have a more enjoyable flight than I possibly could. This Celine jewels case is both practical and stylish – the only two criteria I (loosely) abide by when building out a wishlist.

Hermés Series 10 Apple Watch

I love watches, and I love smart watches too. Since converting to an Apple Watch during lockdown as my day-to-day timepiece, I haven't looked back. Low and behold, I am due for an upgrade, and the new Hermés Series 10 Apple Watch releases for 2024 tick all the boxes. The technology I love is still all there, but paired with a more stylish face and an undeniably chic band that allows the Maison's heritage and craftsmanship to sing. It's no surprise that this piece is at the top of my shopping list.

Miu Miu Navy Polo Shirt

This piece needs no introduction. All I will say is that it's a polo shirt spring and this piece would look heavenly with a slouchy white trouser. It's a need, not a want.

Sandro Mahaut Woven Dress

The type of dress everyone should have in their spring wardrobe. I dream of styling this with a chunky sandal and oversized tote to contrast the more elegant, feminine silhouette.

Chanel Pendant Earrings

Whether you have a more subtle style, or like to experiment with colour and texture, everyone needs a great, gold statement earring in their colour. Here is my pick of the season.

Calvin Klein 90s Straight Jeans

White jeans in the warmer months are a must, and I can't get past a straight leg from the king of 90s denim, Calvin Klein. So crisp, so timeless.

Christopher Esber Chatter Sheer Overlay Tee

I wasn't really one to get into the baby tee trend, but this tee from Christopher Esber is one I can get around. I love the knit layer underneath and the fun graphic. An easy to wear and simple addition perfect for those days when I want to feel put together, but casual.

Bottega Veneta Mini Sardine

I have a visceral reaction every time I see this bag. So much so, that I have forbidden myself from going to try it on. Talk about self control. I can't be held responsible for your actions though, and I also wouldn't blame you.

Gucci Sunglasses

Sunshine means new shades. And what's not to love about a 90s-esque, cat eye, tortoiseshell combination?

Faithfull the Brand Freya Playsuit

The warmer months are all about dressing with ease, and who doesn't love a jumpsuit you can throw on at a moments notice? I love the stripe and detail on the cuffs.

St. Agni Flip Flops

Flip flops are so back – that's definitely not news. But I've been struggling to find a pair that can go beyond the beach. This St. Agni style is made from leather, so they pair nicely with a more tailored trouser or a denim short.

Max Mara One-Shoulder Cotton Shirt

Event season is upon us and with that, comes the influx of black tie event requests. I'm the first person to be excited by a dress code, but I do like to change things up every now and again. An interesting, crisp white shirt is so great for meeting a more formal dress code without having to wear, well, a dress. I would pair this Max Mara shirt with a long, black column skirt, statement jewellery and even a matching tie – if I wanted to go the extra mile.
