The biggest snubs and surprises in the 2025 SAG Awards nominations

sag nominations

Another day, another nominations list. This time, its the films and actors in the running for the 31st Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards. With the official ceremony taking place on February 23, the SAG awards are shaping up to be one of the most interesting races this season, with several surprise inclusions — and shocking snubs — on the nominations list. Leading the charge are Wicked and Shōgun, with both tying for the most nominations in SAG Award history at five each. But who missed out? Below, we're rounding up the biggest snubs...

Zendaya

Although she was recognised for her ruthless portrayal of Tashi Duncan in Challengers at the Golden Globes, Zendaya was notably absent from the SAG nominations. The film itself also failed to score any nods this time around, as did co-stars Mike Faist and Josh O'Connor.

Nicole Kidman

Australian actress Nicole Kidman didn't receive any acknowledgement for leading the cast of A24's Babygirl. Kidman was in the running for Best Actress at the Golden Globes, however lost to Fernanda Torres for her work on I'm Still Here. Babygirl also didn't receive any SAG Awards nominations.

Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie's portrayal of Maria Callas in the biopic Maria didn't manage to cut through, despite earning her an inclusion on the Best Actress list at the Golden Globes. Once again, the film also failed to score any nominations.

Sebastian Stan

Sebastian Stan took home the award for Best Actor in a Comedy at the Golden Globes, thanks to his role in A Different Man. Despite that, the role wasn't recognised at the SAG awards. Some have speculated that it could be owing to Stan also appearing in the Donald Trump biopic, The Apprentice, with both films splitting nomination votes.

The Brutalist

The Brutalist cleaned up at the Golden Globes, taking home not only Best Picture (Drama), but Best Actor for Adrien Brody, and Best Director for Brady Corbet. But proving that not all awards shows are created equally, only Brody received a nod at the SAG awards.
