What’s on the ‘RUSSH’ editors’ shopping list in September

Spring has certainly sprung, and with the gentle taste of sultry air on the wind, its hard not to start shopping for skirts and sandals. What's on our wishlists for this month? From short shorts to sunscreen, scroll on for the pieces we're dreaming of in September.

I was recently in the Hands shop in Newtown (highly recommend visiting) and mentally marked the Sabre Paris Bistrot Cutlery in Fern Green as an investment for my future home. At a recent showroom visit, I fell hard for Maggie Marilyn’s Tailored Crepe Mini Dress from their latest drop – perhaps the perfect little black dress? – and the SIR. Edie Mini Short. And, naturally, I’m on the hunt for a great finishing olive oil – like this adorable sardine pop-art-covered bottle of EVOO from Muraglia.

I’m so glad Spring has arrived. The better weather truly makes me want to be outside all day and with that, comes the need for fresh activewear. I love Lorna Jane leggings and these ones are a great everyday option. I’m also after some new grippy socks and and these are perfect.
I’m always in the mood for denim and these new Rolla’s 90s jeans will be a spring staple.
The last thing on my shopping list this month is a restock of my La Roche-Posay Anthelios Tinted Fluid Facial Sunscreen. Can’t live without it.

September is a particularly fun month for me as I’m allowed to fantasise about the ridiculous birthday gifts I can buy myself at the end of the month (romantic little Libran that I am). Naturally, I will throw a party so will be in need of some champagne, oysters and salted crisps. I always buy myself a ‘party’ dress each year and this year, I love this ivory silk gown from Beare Park but I also love red wine, so can you ever go wrong with a black slip dress from Simone Rocha? No. With the slight increase in age I should probably take better care of my skin and have been investigating the Face Mist by Augustinus Bader and my bleached hair definitely needs some OI Conditioner. In the vain hope my partner reads these things I would graciously accept this blazer or some new sunglasses, however, all I ever really want is a homemade card and a kiss.

Spring has sprung, and with it, an enormous desire to peel away all my layers. The transeasonal weather also ushers in two extremes: readying my house for any entertaining long into Summer, as well as buying the ittiest scraps of clothing for me to shuck off at first signs of heat (I nominate this Paris Georgia tank). Which is also why I need this Aesop soap bar for my barren sinktop.

Now that I’m also charging towards Clovelly whenever I get a spare moment, a pair of new shielders are in order. In particular: This pair of Bottega Venetas. I’m also in great need of restocking all the jewellery I lose, and to start I’d love this Hannah Beckett bracelet to cuff my wrist. Finally, for hydration, and perhaps the only logistical item on the list, A Frank Green for warmer days ahead.

I’m quite loving Miu Miu’s collection at the moment for the warmer season – especially this Jersey T-Shirt. I loved the green so much, but sadly sold out, but realised it's available in blue and really love that too. And I know this is technically a wedding band, but I love to invest in my jewellery pieces, and I have had my sight set on this beautiful bezel diamond band from Lucy Folk to add to my collection…. Seriously tempting.

I’m also in need of topping up my moisturiser, vitamin C and retinol – all three running out on the same day is very inconvenient. My go-to’s, and have been for quite a while, is Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream, Kiehl's Retinol, and Kiehl's Vitamin C. I like to stick with one brand for my skin care normally, and Kiehl's has always worked amazing on my skin since I was a teenager. And because I always like to feed my Chanel shoe collection, I really love their slingbacks – specifically Karl Lagerfeld’s 2016 collection. But I feel a black pair will never let you down for any occasion.

I’m trying to exercise restraint right now in the context of shopping, but I do need new walking sneakers. I walk everywhere and my collection of ballet flats aren’t conducive to 10,000 steps. My osteo also tells me that Havaianas aren’t the best for my posture (sob). I think I’ve had enough of Sambas, but I do love . On a beauty note, Diptyque has released a new line of limited scents and I’m so intrigued by Corail Oscuro. It’s meant to smell like a mashup of fiery red coral against the coolness of the sea bed. Sign me up. I also have a few weddings towards the end of the year, so I’ve been window shopping for outfits. In my dreams, I’m wearing this wine-coloured Khaite dress with these Dries earrings via SSENSE.

At the very, very top of my wishlist this month is this black leather skirt from St. Agni. I am looking for any and all excuses to buy it. And since spring is in the air, surely I need a new sundress? Right? This heavenly number from Isabelle Quinn is the one I want. I also have this bag from Kinnon on my list too. I saw it last week and it's a laptop bag that is designed to be chic enough to take to lunch or dinner. I love it, especially since my laptop is currently being shoved into a ratty tote.

Some beauty top ups are on the cards. I run out of eye creams at an alarming rate, I have a feeling my partner is using mine. I love the Allies of Skin peptide one at the moment. And I also really loved the Summer Fridays peptide one too. So I'll grab one of those. Also, my hair stylist recommended I try the Vida Glow Hairology Capsules, she just started stocking them. Luckily enough, Vida Glow ended up sending me some to try, so I was able to cross those off my wishlist quickly. Stand by for results.

Also, I really want a pair of Pilates flares in red or cocoa and I can't find any. Hit me up if you know where I can find some!

It officially feels like spring and I’m so ready. My hair on the other hand is not. I’ve been using the Chloe Zara haircare range which I really loved, but I like to change it up season to season so I’m going back to the KEVIN.MURPHY Hydrate Me Wash and Rinse.

I’m also on the hunt for some new sunglasses and these tortoise shell ones are giving that effortless 90s supermodel vibe I’m going for. A top up of my favourite buildable MAC Studio Fix Foundation is also a high priority as I’m scraping the bottom of my current one, and last but not least a little touch of luxury with a new Maison de Sabré carry on suitcase. Lightweight and super roomy inside it is the perfect replacement to my current one which is looking more than a little worse for wear.
