How the ‘RUSSH’ editors get ready for our 20th anniversary celebration

It's not every day that RUSSH magazine turns 20, so, when it does, we know how to throw a party. To mark this momentous occasion, the RUSSH editors gathered for a super chic, celebratory soirée. While the location remained a surprise until the very last minute, we were privvy to a few details: namely, that there was a lot of fun (and champagne) to be had ahead, and that our outfits for the night needed to fit the brief, 'festive black tie.'

Of course, hosting a celebration in the middle of December can feel just as frantic as it does fabulous, which is why having an arsenal of stellar accessories at the ready takes the stress out of putting together a party-ready look. So where does one begin? Below, see exactly how the RUSSH editors got ready for our 20th anniversary celebration with iconic accessories brand, Charles & Keith.

When in doubt, go monochrome

If you're unsure on a colour palette for your look, try anchoring your accessories to an item of clothing. Take Content Director Elyssa Kostopooulos' look: her soft gold skirt perfectly tied in with Charles & Keith's Metallic Beaded Top Handle Bag in rose gold, while the bejewelled accent of this piece also echoed the sparkly champagne accent of her heels. A winning combination, if you ask us.

Silver is the ultimate accent

An LBD is a staple in our wardrobes year-round, but this simple piece feels instantly more festive with the addition of sparkling silver accessories. Executive Fashion Director Hannah Cooper put this formula to the test, glamming up a black gown with Charles & Keith's Metallic Boots, a sleek silver east-west wallet, and — our personal favourite touch — chrome sunglasses.

Make room for mini bags

Charles & Keith

There's no need for ludicrously capacious accessories on the dance floor — a fact the RUSSH team knows well. This festive season, we're downsizing our accessories, with mini bags that fit lipgloss, ID, and likely not much else. Make like Digital Editor Kirsty Thatcher and dip your toes into the trend with Charles & Keith's Patent Chain-Handle Shoulder Bag, or go even smaller à la Assistant to the Editor-in-Chief Samantha Corry with the Bosie Patent Top Handle Pouch.

Don't forget your dancing shoes

One thing the RUSSH team can all agree on, dancing shoes are essential for any celebration. Designer Phoebe Holden made a case for the Cut-Out Pointed-Toe Slingback Pumps as the ultimate dance floor accessory, while Samantha nodded to the season of gift giving with Bow Slingback Pumps, and Kirsty kept things demure in Faux Suede Pointed-Toe Kitten Heel Pumps.
