The Lady in Dior doesn't sing the blues. She sings Spanish folk, opera, and baroque pop. She is a self-appointed 'moto mami' and a genre-bending pioneer. She has two Grammys, twelve Latin Grammy nominations, and an inexorable love for fashion. She is a haute chameleon, blending new age modern verve with a timeless tribute to classic fashion. In a delightful turn of events, Rosalía has been appointed as the latest global ambassador for Dior. The French fashion house has unveiled a campaign featuring the new 'Despeche' muse as the next face.
In the campaign, the muse poses with a singular microphone as a prop. A black and white silhouette rounded out the portraits. Minimal touches on the face added to rotating ensembles of a black suit, a white shirt, and a classic Dior evening gown beaded in white.

Perhaps we should have seen the signs. For the Met Gala, Rosalía turned out with evening-wear opulence in a Dior haute couture black wool and silk bustier top and skirt finished with a long train, accompanied with a graphic veil headdress designed by Stephen Jones. Carlos Nazario brought the look to life. In the past, Rosalía has worked with luxury houses from Balenciaga, Miu Miu to Rick Owens and more. Now with Dior announcing an official partnership, we cannot wait to see what this era yields.

Why has Dior chosen Rosalia?
The singer's induction has been well-researched. “I immediately fell in love with Rosalía’s music. I then looked deeper into her work and was truly struck by her dedication as both a musician and producer,” said Maria Grazia Chiuri, creative director of womenswear at Dior.
At Dior, Rosalía joins a pantheon that includes names of other house muses like Natalie Portman and Charlize Theron. We are waiting with baited breath to see what they will create together in this new advent of fashion.
