This year I’ll be gifting …
This Christmas was all about the little things that spark joy. The horoscope obsession doesn’t seem to be subsiding anytime soon, and luckily for me my friends are equally as obsessed. For something a little different, consciously curated online store, Public Figure, have released a set of ethically crafted zodiac beach towels in collaboration with Anisah Nasir, celebrating the beauty of the female form. The gift of scent is a forever favourite – a selection of Subtle Bodies incense and their chic brass holders make for perfect stocking fillers. While Alex and Trahanas have an incredible curation of artful ceramics - special keepsake gifts for either single use or group pairings. One of each for me too please.
I’d love to receive …
This year my Christmas list was all about practicality and experience … Of course, a few little sneaky desires don’t go astray. For the ultimate in self-care and skin refresh, I asked for a famous HydraFacial from The Clinic. Perfect for deep cleaning, hydration, clearing congestion and all-round boosting and brightening. My motivation to exercise is basically non-existent, so a package of pre-paid classes to Bodylove was highly welcomed. Pilates being the only form of group exercise I enjoy, this is perfect for my 'New Year, New Me' existential fitness crisis. My lamp obsession is still high, so one of Sarah Nedovic’s Lady lamps were top of the list, along with some new summer sandals by A.Emery.
New Year’s Eve looks like …
I’m never usually a fan of New Year's Eve, or even Christmas, really. If you’re like me, this time of year brings heightened anxieties about the year that's passed and the future ahead. The notion that I should be ‘doing more’, ‘having loads of fun’ or ‘finding a New Year's kiss’ is always on my mind. However, this year is different. With a pre-planned road trip down the Great Ocean Road to Torquay, I'm more than excited to spend the night with my eight closest friends in our beach house. Our plans? A stay-at-home disco-themed dinner party. Glitter, sequins, home-cooked meals, endless wine and dancing on tables ’til our heart's content. Young hearts run free.
My summer reading list includes …
With nothing but long beach days ahead and no one to answer to, the opportunity has finally come for me to sit by the ocean and read the books that were gifted to me by friends and colleagues. Open your mind.
My summer playlist sounds like …
Is anyone surprised that Harry Styles’s new album Fine Line is top of my music list? Absolutely not. The sweet sound of Harry will be playing all summer long, paired with the greatest 70s disco hits for New Year's Eve partying. My road trip classics will also be on repeat, from the Rolling Stones, Neil Diamond, Elvis Presley and many more.
