Immerse yourself in the world of Chanel fragrance through the luxury brand's new series of short films, I am a Chanel Perfume. Selecting one’s personal scent is a deeply individual choice, and this series explores the idea of fragrance as a means of expressing your style and asserting your presence.
The first chapter, I am an idea, sees long-time Chanel muse Vanessa Paradis lending her velvety voice to Chanel parfumeur Olivier Polge’s contemporary manifesto of Gabrielle Chanel’s vision for fragrance. The film features a patchwork of visuals beginning with the Chanel ateliers at work and concluding in a series of female bodies shown in close-up, bathed in sunlight, dressed only in fragrance. It is here that Chanel’s understanding of fragrance to mean a considered and composed invisible item of clothing is realised. Anything less just wouldn’t smell as sweet.
