Get cozy at home this holiday season with Raf Simons. The iconic designer has recently launched a new online platform titled History Of My World - a multi-hyphenate online store and creative platform curated by Simons.
The designer has reportedly launched the store to reflect his point of view, aesthetic, and philosophy, and to debut the platform, has released a capsule of one-off blankets crafted at the Raf Simons studio. Just in time for a New York snowstorm, no less.
While it might be a while before we're in need of a giant designer blanket in the middle of Australia's summer time, it's not a homewares piece we're wanting to miss out on. There are only 45 blankets available under the collection name Teenage Dream, all of which are handcrafted in Antwerp. The pieces are offered in solid colourways and plaid patterns, and quilt together images, words and graphics in signature Simons style. The blankets feel conversational, considered and naturally, extremely cool.
In addition to the blankets, the History Of My World store is also offering sets of candles, which have been inspired by and formed after historical apothecary bottles, and a range fashion and photography books created by Simons. Shoppers can also reportedly request a personal inscription handwritten by Simons himself, as if he doesn't have enough to do?
As it would appear, there is no slowing down for Simons, despite 2020 being the year that was supposed to force us all to do so. First, he joined Miuccia Prada as co-creative director of Prada where he would be at the helm of the Italian brand alongside Mrs Prada herself, then he decided to expand his foray into womenswear by developing his own debut womenswear collection for his eponymous brand. Now, as above, he is designing blankets and curating books in his spare hours. If he'd like to let us know how he gets it all done, we're all ears.
