Created through extraordinary times. Proenza Schouler introduces the Spring Summer 2021 collection, presented in the form of a fashion book in collaboration with artist and photographer Daniel Shea.
The new book, titled Proenza Schouler New York 2020 was created as a love letter to New York and is available in four alternate signature coloured covers with limited signed copies. With the sudden absence of touch and a greater shift towards a purely digital existence, this book serves as a lasting and physical document of this unexpected and extraordinary moment in time that the world will never forget.
The Proenza Schouler Spring Summer 2021 collection is a breath of fresh air, an exhale of relief and a fashion dream come true. Expressed through optimism and purely joyful clothing, SS 21 offers an effortless way of dressing with the strength of a quiet confidence. Hard edges are softened into sensual curves, perfectly executed traditional tailoring allows for comfort and ease of movement and knitwear replaces conventional daytime wear.
Each garment envelops the wearer in softness and a rich and distinct palette. Accessories are a bold and intimate dream, from pillowy chain bags, cushioned bags and quilted leather slippers that look like a luxurious affair. A new creative and less-wasteful process means the collection has been almost completely executed from upcycled Proenza Schouler fabrics – a commitment and a prerequisite for the brand moving forward.
A collection that came about through incredible times and unimaginable circumstances. Proenza Schouler Spring Summer 20 celebrates the need for uncomplicated, streamlined, and decisive fashion with an artisanal touch.
The new book, Proenza Schouler New York 2020 is available exclusively on proenzaschouler.com, along with the Spring Summer 2021 collection available for pre-order for the very first time on the website.
