It has been almost 26 years since Princess Diana sat down for her now-infamous Martin Bashir interview; and yet, the issues she shared have never felt more relevant. Earlier this week, her youngest son, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, finally had their voices heard in a similar interview; and it felt like we were experiencing the late princess' heartache all over again. It's a timely coincidence then, that a new documentary on her tell-all interview is making its way to our screens. And we'd be lying if we said we weren't looking forward to the Royal Family's reputation receiving another blow.
The Diana Interview: Revenge of a Princess documentary will examine how the historic BBC interview came to be; the one in which Diana revealed the details of her marriage to Charles, his infidelity and the harrowing reality of her mental health problems. It will also incorporate interviews with the people who witnessed her marriage fall apart; as well as bring to light previously unseen documents and footage from the interview itself.

Yes, the loaded question: "Were you silent, or were you silenced" was as pertinent then as it is now.
According to Variety, Channel Nine has won the rights to air the two-part explosive documentary here in Australia. While there's no official release date as of yet, the publication did confirm that it will come to our screens sometime this year. As such, it doesn't sound like 2021 is going to be quite the year the Royal Family was anticipating. In addition to the claims that surfaced in the interview earlier this week, the palace is still in the midst of managing Prince Andrew's relationship with predator Jeffrey Epstein.
In preparation for what is sure to be a bombshell documentary, you can watch a teaser for the upcoming premiere of The Diana Interview: Revenge of a Princess below.
