Prada is taking its spring summer show digital. Tonight at 10pm, you are invited to tune and watch the latest show from the House from your digital device.
This particular virtual event is for the Prada Men’s and Women’s SS/Pre-Collection21, a show titled Multiple Views. It's a fitting title for this new-wave fashion event that will live stream for the world to watch, all at the same time.
Hosted in Milan, the event takes place at 2pm CEST - which is 10pm for those on AEST - and will highlight a new era for the House. It's Prada's first show in a post coronavirus and new socially-distanced world.
The House has shared some words ahead of the show, "For #PradaMultipleViews SS21, a singular statement is replaced by the perspectives of many: multiple views, by a multitude of global creatives."
Be sure to tune in at 10pm for this special event.
This is the first socially-distanced and virtual runway show for Prada.
As a result of the coronavirus pandemic outbreak, many large-scale events were forced to close or cancel to comply with the social-distancing rules in place designed to stop the spread of the virus. While many countries around the globe are loosening social-distancing restrictions, this period in history has birthed a new world.
Many Fashion Weeks including London Fashion Week and Paris Haute Couture Week opted to take the event online, presenting virtual shows. It's an interesting move, certainly one that had made fashion much more democratic. Runway shows in the past were often reserved only for select industry members. But virtual events invite everyone to the table, including more people in the conversation around luxury and design.
Fashion is an art and art is something that should be enjoyed by anyone that craves it. So, this new realm and more inclusive approach to fashion is certainly a silver lining of our current circumstance.
