In partnership with Champagne Perrier-Jouët and Arts-Matter
Nature and sustainability are at the heart of Maison Perrier-Jouët and have been so for more than 200 years. With both cited as a constant source of inspiration, a new eco-box designed for the House's bottles was a natural progression in the evolution of the brand. Environmental responsibility front of mind, the House is reinventing the art of gifting.
Last week, in a feast of creativity co-hosted by Champagne Perrier-Jouët and Arts-Matter, guests at the launch of the innovation were invited to paint the new eco-boxes, to view them as a blank canvas waiting to be adorned with colour. The result? Unique, perspective-oriented individual pieces of art to be treasured. From cooler tones to sunflower-inspired motifs, it was a feast for the eyes and the creative mind. A mixture of artists and minds were in attendance, from Archibald Prize finalist Oliver Watts to two-generations of the Olsen family all painting together.
While sipping on the finest Perrier-Jouët Blanc de Blancs, guests were encouraged to tap into their creative conscious and view the eco-boxes as something other than their literal incarnations. With the understanding of nature and environmental responsibility driving their existence, musing on a future with more eco-harmony was a key inspiration for many creations painted. It is the blending of a centuries-old icon, with a view towards the future and its eternal legacy.
The Champagne Perrier-Jouët eco-box is fully recyclable, made with 100 per cent natural fibres sourced from FSC-certified forests. Ink and glue free, it is designed and developed in France and is a 30 per cent weight reduction on the previous gift box, helping reduce the House’s overall environmental impact.
Maison Perrier-Jouët’s eco-box is part of an ongoing move towards engaging in greater sustainable practices. The glass bottles used by the House are recyclable and lighter than ever in its history. Each contains 85 per cent recycled glass and the entire gift offering from Perrier-Jouët will be eco-designed by the end of this year. It is an ambitious programme, but one inherent to the House’s nature.
Sustainable viniculture is in constant promotion from Champagne Perrier-Jouët and 100 per cent of its vineyard in Champagne is certified sustainable, alongside a zero-herbicide policy and sustainable growing practices.
