Here’s who will be performing at tonight’s Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony

It's almost time to bring the gold home, Australia. We've been tracking the action from the ground, in case you need pointers on the entire Australian swim team heading to Paris, or where you can catch all the action from the TV. We've also broached how fashion intersects with the founding rites of the Olympian, but today, we've got our eyes on performance. Who will perform at the Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony? It's a job requiring inimitable nerve and talent, that's for sure. While the games start to heat up ahead of this weekend, the set contractors in question have also been released. Below, we take you through the set list, track stars and hopeful song requests we know we'll be fielding ahead of the big games.

Who will be performing at the Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony?

Aya Nakamura, Lady Gaga and  Celine Dion are the projected headliners in Paris. Nakamura, France's most listened to singer, French-Canadian icon Dion and Mother Monster herself will be taking centre stage before a single flag raises.

What songs will they be performing?

Nakamura will be performing one of Aznavour's songs alongside the Republican guard, while Dion takes on an  Édith Piaf classic, in a rousing tribute to France. Whereas for Gaga, word has not released, but we're hoping it's Summer Boy. That might just be us, though.

What French musicians will also be gracing the stage?

A feast of French musical talent will take to the stage. In collaborative shows, there will be a duet between pianist Sofiane Pamart and singer Juliette Armanet, as well as a B2B set featuring singer Philippe Katerine and drummer Cerrone. An intriguing inclusion to the bill, ‘original’ collaboration between opera singer Marina Viotti and eco-metal band Gojira will also follow, along with a performance by Parisian rapper Rim'K from hip hop band 113.
