A new streaming platform is making its way to Australian shores; and we would be lying if we said we weren't thrilled at the idea of having another place to binge watch our favourite shows and films. Paramount+ is finally debuting in Australia, after becoming an extremely successful home for entertainment in the United States. But unlike its competitors, Paramount+ will be unlike any of the streaming platforms currently available Down Under.
Similarly to how it replaced CBS All Access in the States; Paramount+ will take over and expand upon the existing 10 All Access streaming service. The content available will be a mix of television series, films and surprisingly, sports coverage – which is something you can't get from Netflix or Stan.
Paramount+ will be landing in Australia today, on August 11. Before you jump on board and enter the binge-watching hole of no return, here's everything you need to know about the new platform.
What is Paramount+?
Paramount+ is a streaming video on demand service being supported by Network 10 and ViacomCBS. The platform will replace 10 All Access; meaning that existing members will automatically have access to the new service and content. Unlike the approach taken by some other streaming platforms, Paramount+ capitalises on the various properties under the wider ViacomCBS banner; bringing you content from channels like Showtime, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and MTV under one roof. The platform will also be streaming the A-League and W-League live when the season kicks off again.
When is it launching in Australia?
Paramount+ is launching in Australia today, on August 11. The platform will launch with a mix of original content, third party and local content – so there's really something for everyone.
