'Nobody Wants This' has landed on Netflix.

As a culture, we’ve been collectively yearning for the serotonin hit of a quality rom-com for what feels like years. Though many have tried, few releases in the last decade have managed to replicate the undefinable magic of a classic romantic comedy – the sort that dominated our screens in the 90s and early aughts. Now, Netflix’s newest addition, Nobody Wants This, might finally have answered our prayers.

The 10-episode series hit the screening service on Thursday, September 26 and, according to just about everyone who has already binged the whole thing, has all the makings of an instant classic. We’d hazard a guess that at least some of the success of the series is owing to its two lead actors, rom-com aficionados Adam Brody and Kristen Bell. Of course, Brody is an OG heartthrob, having once brought our forever crush Seth Cohen to life in The OC. Bell has plenty of experience tugging on our heart strings (and making us laugh), too. She’s starred in Veronica Mars, When In Rome, and Couples Retreat, to name a few. It helps that the duo also have genuine chemistry, thanks to their years-long real-life friendship.

What is Nobody Wants This about?

The show follows Joanne (Bell), an agnostic, unlucky-in-love woman who runs a sex podcast with her sister, Morgan (Justine Lupe). Joanne’s perennial singledom is thrown into disarray when she meets Noah (Adam Brody), a newly-single Jewish rabbi. Without going into too much detail, the unlikely pair hit it off, and an iconic romance ensues.
