A new trailer for the upcoming sci-fi film Voyagers has just been released, and we're very much on the edge of our seats following the two-minute long trailer starring Lily-Rose Depp, Tye Sheridan, and Fionn Whitehead.
Directed by Divergent's Neil Burger, the narrative of the film focuses on a group of teenagers who are being raised in the isolation of a space ship while they wait in limbo to discover a new planet habitable enough to colonise. Placated by a mysterious blue liquid the teens are forced to drink each day, the new trailer leads us to discover that the drug is in fact suppressing the horny, hormone induced fervour that teenagers constantly experience.
“It’s medication to decrease pleasure,” Tye Sheridan’s character concludes mid way through the trailer, and once the group silently rebels and begins to skip their "medication", things start to take a twisted and rampant turn as they go absolutely off the rails.
Lily-Rose Depp's character seems to be less interested in the whole thing, even through some horny looking hook-up sessions with co-star Tye Sheridan's character. Her skin glowy as ever - even under her spacesuit helmet - she narrates that the group won't “ever see the planet,” and TBH, it's not looking good in our eyes either, especially when two teenagers begin fighting with what looks like a crowbar.
Colin Farrell stars alongside the young actors, appearing to be a kind of authoritative figurehead and mastermind behind the whole blue drug scheme, and in an interview style clip, admits “I want to be honest with them,”
The trailer builds to absolute chaos and by the end there are trails of blood, many screams, and space ship malfunctions aplenty.
The film is set to release on April 9, 2021. You can watch the new trailer for Voyagers in all its chaotic glory, below.
