Another day, another sneaker collaboration worth paying attention to! MM6 Maison Margiela has teamed up with Salomon to officially unveil their capsule collaboration, which was first seen on the Maison Margiela Fall Winter 2023 runway show.

The shoe is, naturally, inspired by everyday dressing, with the notion of celebrating “the unsung beauty of quotidian dressing,” according to the press release. Offering a reimagined take on the performance-oriented design that Salomon is so known for married with the fashion-forward lens of MM6 Maison Margiela, the first iteration of the collection is footwear. Two of Salomon's signature silhouettes – the Cross Low and Cross High – are offered first up. The Cross Low is reinvented with a lug sole from Salomon’s typical Speedcross pattern and an inner mesh slip-on shoe, in a nod to the brand’s trail running heritage, served up in three tricolour options: black and white, red and pink, and khaki and green.

The Cross High features a similar lug and block heel as the low, only this time it is offered as a high-top silhouette, featuring a suede and ripstop upper and boasting Salomon’s signature Sensifit quick-lace technology for added comfort. The MM6 Maison Margiela X Salomon Cross High is available in two core colorways: black and white and red.

“Our motivation was to create a shoe that could easily transition between cityscapes and the great outdoors — a single product that both maintained Salomon’s high-performance specifications and also resonated with MM6 Maison Margiela’s contemporary aesthetic. The core idea, though, was the same as it always is for us. Our goal was to push Salomon’s performance-driven designs to such an extreme that they seamlessly integrated into the MM6 Maison Margiela wardrobe.” The MM6 Maison Margiela design team explained in a statement on the collaboration.

The MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon capsule will be available from November 11th on the MM6 Maison Margiela website  alongside in selected retailers.
