For the first time, it’s a fully realised wardrobe, perfectly timed for the holiday season.
Initially launched in 2020, Miu Miu Upcycled has always been about giving the past a glamorous future. The 2024 lineup is no exception, spotlighting four bold narratives: globally sourced leather, pre-loved kilts from the 50s through 70s, vibrant yarn remnants straight from Miu Miu’s archives, and jaw-dropping archival embroidery layered over black Chantilly lace. Each piece has its own story – an attitude, even – and together they form a collection that’s as chic as it is conscious.
But Miu Miu isn’t just recycling history; they’re rewriting it through innovation. Enter the Aura Blockchain Consortium, the non-profit tech partner ensuring every piece comes with blockchain-backed verification. This isn’t just transparency, it’s traceability, giving wearers a front-row seat to the full lifecycle of their luxury garments.
The collection’s debut in Miu Miu’s Holiday campaign is pure cinematic nostalgia, starring actor and House ambassador Emma Corrin, styled by Lotta Volkova and lensed by Lengua. Corrin’s evolving style has found a fitting partner in Miu Miu, having begun collaborating with the House in 2020, before taking up the gauntlet as a House ambassador. Corrin of course made her runway debut at Paris Fashion Week for the House in March last year, and starred in Miu Miu's Upcycled Holiday 2024 campaign last year as well.
The campaign channels postcard-perfect charm with a side of edge – think bold colours, raw-hemmed jackets with jewel embellishments, low-slung tartan kilts reimagined for the festive season, and chunky knits crafted from leftover yarn. Each piece fuses archival codes with modern indulgences, proving regeneration isn’t just trendy – it’s transformative.
