Miuccia Prada's Spring Summer 2024 collection for Miu Miu was a special collaboration with Qatari-American artist and ultimate story-teller Sophia Al-Maria. Al-Maria's work opened the show on digital screens, which played her work titled 'Gravity & Grace', playing into the influences behind the collection, which transmitted the past, shared the present and imagined the future.
As has become tradition for the House, the runway event was staged at the Palais d'Iena art museum in the heart of Paris. The show notes called it a "multi-dimensional fable set in the eye of the storm. It stars stuntwoman Ayesha Hussian as 'archetypal twins who gaslight, gatekeep and girlboss their way through a multi-perspective dreamscape that is both real and replica'."
What were the standout looks from the Miu Miu SS24 collection?
This season we were smitten with the show's soft leather boat shoes and overstuffed bags, each slung over the shoulder of preppy jackets with incredible layering expertise. Board shorts – some with double ties – brought in an element of elevated leisurewear, and were an interestingly masculine take for Miu Miu. Wide belts were still a mainstay, as were visible logo waistbands, low-rise ultra-mini skirts – and of course, pants are still optional for another season!
Elsewhere in footwear, New Balance 530s made an appearance, along with leather brogues from Miu Miu's collaboration with Church’s.
Who attended the Miu Miu SS24 show?
Miu Miu's front row was occupied by some of the House's notable ambassadors like Emma Corrin, Mia Goth and Sydney Sweeney. Paris Fashion Weekers like Zaya Wade, Emma Chamberlain, Richie Shazam and Paris Hilton were also in attendance.
But the runway was just as dotted with celebrity appearances as the frow: Petra Collins, Amelia Gray, Gigi Hadid, Liu Wen, Cailee Spaeny (star of Sophia Coppola's new Priscilla film) and Troye Sivan all walking.
