What would the bookish, sexy, and slightly dishevelled Miu Miu muse smell like? That's what the Italian fashion house intends to get to the bottom of with its latest venture. Miu Miu has just entered into a long term license agreement with L’Oréal to create luxury beauty products, and first off the bat is a fragrance range.
What else will be in the collection?
For now, all that's been announced is a fragrance offering but with any luck, we'll be looking at makeup, skincare, and possibly haircare too. We're imagining sleek, boundary-pushing packaging, with playful, easy-application lipsticks and blushes for a modern muse who is also time-poor. What do you think Miu Miu beauty will look like?
Following in Prada's footsteps
The contract with L'Oréal demonstrates the fashion House's intention to push its brand in the realm of luxury beauty, and if it's anywhere near as successful as Miu Miu ready-to-wear, we're in for something extraordinary. For L'Oréal, this is a key addition to its booming portfolio which includes Miu Miu sister label Prada, as well as the likes of Diesel, Aesop, Yves Saint Laurent and Giorgio Armani.
It seems that where Prada leads, Miu Miu will follow. In 2023, Miu Miu's sister label announced its own fragrance and beauty range last year with Emma Watson as the face of the Paradoxe campaign. Who do you think will front the Miu Miu fragrance campaign? Mia Goth, Emma Corrin, Demi Singleton, Sydney Sweeney? All good guesses, but only time will tell.
When will the collection become available?
As mentioned, the first Miu Miu beauty products are expected to be a range of luxury fragrances. These are expected to become available in 2025... so still a fair while off. However, anything Ms Prada puts her mind to we're more than willing to hold out for.
