At Palais D’Iéna to close out Paris Fashion Week, guests took their seats to observe what Miu Miu has in store for Fall Winter 2024. The answer? A new way of reflecting on our own personal style, which acknowledges the tastes of childhood and adolescence, merging them with our adult outlook. Find all the details about Miu Miu FW24 below.
The clothes
Upon first look, the collection appeared to blend post war women's wardrobes with the Skins costume department. This essence was confirmed when Miuccia Prada shared her show notes. She says, "This collection is about life – about experiences, expressing that through clothes. There is a whole space between childhood and adulthood that is fascinating to me – it is when your character is formed. This is a collection about those personal, individual moments.”
Adding that, "These garments are a vocabulary of clothes. Here, you can choose pieces from childhood to adulthood, mix them together and make what you want from them."
Pearls, furs, cap-sleeves, buckled brogues and thick woollen stocking were broken up with mini hemlines, T-bar mary janes, speedealer sunglasses, Doc Marten-esque boots, and suede butcher gloves. It was the perfect cocktail of adult formality and the rebellious tastes of youth.
The set
Video installations surrounded the runway and were created by Belgian-American artist Cécile B. Evans.
