The mini skirt memo has been delivered: Here are our favourites of the season

mini skirts

As hemlines got shorter and waistbands shimmied lower ahead of SS22 shows, we knew in September that the low rise mini skirt would reign over Y2k revival with an iron fist. And who better to lead us back into the 2000s trenches than Mrs. Miuccia Prada herself? When her barely-there mini skirts took the internet by storm upon its Spring 2022 release, we could be quite sure that the trend had been cemented the moment we witnessed its first exit.

Fast forward to March this year, and as the mini skirt of our dreams (and nightmares) becomes available to purchase IRL, the trend cycle is feverishly attempting to keep up. Mini skirts have never been my cup of tea. A high waist and an a-line silhouette has never truly felt as though it was able to break away from its "twee" connotations, and thus, I axed them from my wardrobe completely for my entire adult life. As with everything worryingly low-rise, however, the Y2K mini skirt has potential in its ability to offer a certain toughness that a high waisted mini just doesn't lend to. Don't ask me how. Sometimes things are best left with a feeling than articulation. I digress, low rise mini skirts are firmly back in the fashion lexicon and we are more on board than we imagined. From going out skirts to simple denim moments, wear with just a sliver of skin showing or the whole tum, it's your world, and we're just living in it.

Below, are our favourite iterations of the mini skirt trend so far.
