Inspired by the story of the virgin goddess of the hearth. In Greek mythology, she symbolises home, architecture and comfort. Hestia, the fire that warms the centre of every dwelling, transforming a house into a home.
A visual homage to the goddess herself, McMullin & co.’s latest collection, Hestia takes inspiration from Grecian roots and the feminine form to create a series of objects for the home. This is a collection consciously-designed and curated with warmth and tone in mind.
Following on from the interior label's capsule collection series, Hestia includes a selection of furniture items, homely accoutrements and decor accessories that will blend seamlessly with what you already have in your space. Whilst adding a touch of feminine elegance.
The waved, wooden-framed Audrey floor mirror draws light into your space and adds the warm and tactility of timber. The sculptural Alice lamp adds shade and tone. For minimal elegance, the Clementine vessel offer the cool feeling of ceramics in a way that can be mixed and matched with your existing pieces. While the Ida Chair tells the story of Athenian summers with its muted tones and Grecian lines.
This series of furniture and objet d’art for the home is all about soft waves, voluptuous shapes and sensuous fabrics are thoughtfully projected into tangible pieces to elevate your home in a minimal way.
“Following a year of upheaval, our homes were the only true constant in our lives. The pieces within Hestia have a touch of escapism to them as we look to embrace the anticipation of our next chapter. Inspired by the multiplicity and intrigue of the female form, this collection is designed with solidity in mind. I want the owners of these pieces to feel a sense of individuality and diversity,” said designer Alice McMullin.
“I wanted to challenge perceptions by joining soft sculptural forms with monochromatic tones and textural materials. They are confident statement pieces that when placed together create a collection that portrays our timeless yet minimal aesthetic."
Hestia is available now on McMullin & co.
