We are officially less than a week out from the beginning of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games – how on earth did the time fly by so fast? Our Aussie Olympians are already on the ground in France – including the beloved Matildas squad, ready to take on the world stage once more after their heroic performance at last August's FIFA Women's World Cup on home turf.
Who is their first match against?
The Matildas will go head-to-head with the German women's football team at Stade de Marseille in just three days' time.
When is the match against Germany?
For Australians on the East Coast, you'll be able to catch the Matildas vs Germany game this Friday 26 July at 3am (AEST).
Where can I watch it?
In Australia, you can watch or stream the game live via Channel Nine and Stan Sports. For more information, check out the Matildas website.
Who else will the Matildas play at the 2024 Paris Olympics?
The Matildas will take on Germany, Zambia and the United States in Group B at the Paris Olympics women's football tournament.
The two teams who achieve the most points from this group will continue to the next stage: the knockout round (very similarly to the way the Women's World Cup was structured last year).
It's a tough group to play in – but aren't they all. The Matildas are currently ranked 12th in the world, while USA and Germany are ranked fourth and fifth, respectively.
