We absolutely love Maryam Nassir Zadeh here at RUSSH, and it should come as no surprise as why wouldn't we? Since the designer opened her flagship store (hidden away downtown on the quieter strip of Norfolk St) it's no secret that Maryam Nassir Zadeh has quickly become the style terminus of the city.
So when it came to kicking off the return of this years physical (as opposed to digital) New York Fashion Week - we all tuned in for what Maryam Nassir Zadeh had to show and say. And honestly, we couldn't have loved it more.
Of course, once again as per usual, the show met us with strong and well versed casting. Welcoming some of New York's finest patrons such as Coco Gordon, Lili Sumner, Cole Morr, Paloma Elsesser and iconic fashion designer Andre Walker marking this seasons return to the runway.
And let's be honest - no one really does real ready-to-wear better than MNZ. This year, for the first time the designer showed both mens and womenswear, and from what we could see, it was a collection that was refined, diverse, aspirational as well as accessible and of course - one most unequivocally paired with the highest taste in styling. As for this Spring Summer so it seems, we see Maryam do what she does best.
Classic button ups and suit jackets paired with denim shorts, breezy open summer shirts worn with glass blown necklaces, bikini tops layered underneath bright coloured sheers - the whole show was a grand shuffle in everything curious, all tailored to a finely refined level of taste. Also extending itself to sharp suiting and sequinned paillettes with belly chains, it seems that even Maryam may be reminiscing in time to the minimally chic, low slung, bare midriff-ed days of early 00s.
