All our time spent at home in 2020 meant that makeup really took a backseat to skincare. A welcome change that introduced us to some seriously fantastic skincare products.
But just like fashion, makeup is a form of art. Through it all, there are still plenty of people designing, creating and experimenting. And we are absolutely here for anyone and everyone staying inspired and staying creative. Looking through the work from some of our favourite MUAs, brands and creators, we definitely have seen there's a few key themes on the horizon. Who said your lines needed to be straight? Another huge trend is all about unique shapes and curves - graphic eyeliner. Makeup doesn't have to be literal and this trend certainly isn't. Have fun with your liner and colour outside the lines.

Some of the biggest trends of 2021 are set to take us back rather than bring us forward. Whether its 60s eyeliner or a classic 90s-lined lip, borrowing the trends of the past will be one of the biggest trends in makeup this year.

Coloured eyeliner is not new but it's always been a bit offbeat. Now, it's moving into the mainstream with brands like Fenty Beauty and even Charlotte Tilbury introducing coloured eyeliners into their collections.

Don't hide what you've got, sheer coverage is all the rage in 2021. With more and more brands switching from foundations to tints - just look at Glossier and Nude Stix - and some like Becca even introducing a no-pigment foundation, sheer coverage is the way of the future. Let those freckle shine!
