The Australian born star of Netflix’s Dynasty Maddison Brown is the latest actress to rise to international fame. Between filming in Atlanta for her role as Kirby Anders, spending time in L.A. and living in Australia the actress lets us in on why exercise is essential for her work, her one must when it comes to beauty and how there is no normal in her day to day.
What is your morning beauty routine?
Each morning, I do a full skincare routine. I cleanse, tone and apply serum and a day cream and then SPF.
What is your night beauty routine?
Again at night I do a full skincare routine with cleanser, toner, serum, facial oil, moisturiser and eye cream, and usually if I wash my hair I wash it at night.
Describe what you do for a living? What does a typical day look like for you?
As I’m an actor, each day is different. On a “typical” work day I’d say I have a 6am call time and go straight into hair and makeup and start shooting. Then depending on what is scheduled I’ll be on set from anywhere between 6 to 14 hours.
What is the supermarket/ drug store/ chemist beauty product(s) that you use and love?
I’m currently using the Pantene Pro-V 0% Daily Moisture Renewal shampoo and conditioner. They’ve just upgraded the formula and it now has 0% silicone, so it leaves my hair feeling nourished and hydrated.
What is your main form of beauty body maintenance? What products do you use on your body?
I try to make sure I’m always hydrated and that my skin is moisturised. How do you keep fit/ healthy? Does exercise form a large part of your routine?
I definitely try to exercise at least a few times a week, especially if I’m having a less busy week shooting I’ll work out a lot more. I find it really benefits my mental health as well as keeping me physically healthy. I love Pilates, yoga and running. And I take my dog for a long walk every day.
What cosmetic procedures/ professional treatments do you have as part of your beauty routine?
Occasionally I will get a chemical peel, but that’s probably it.
What do you do when your body needs to recover?
Sleep, rest, eat well and drink a lot of water. And a glass of red wine here and there.
You’re tired/ hungover/ rundown: what is your beauty hack?
I love the SK-II Pitera Essence face masks, I keep them in the fridge so they are nice and cool. It feels so good on your skin, I do one after a hot shower and it is so refreshing. Definitely a good hangover cure too!
What is the one non-negotiable in your beauty routine?
It took me a long time to realise the importance of SPF in a skincare routine, but if you are going to only do one thing wear SPF e v e r y d a y.
Do you have a beauty icon? Who are they and why?
I don’t think I can name one specific person... it sort of changes. I’m having a bit of a Grace Kelly moment right now though.
What is the best advice on beauty you’ve received?
Wear SPF, always wear a hat in the sun, don’t smoke or party and drink lots of water. We’ll find out in 30 years if any of it helped.
What is the best advice on health you’ve received?
Listen to your body and what it’s telling you about your lifestyle physically, mentally and emotionally. You can find out everything you need to know and everything you need to change if you listen to what your body is telling you.
What is the one product you can’t live without?
I always feel my best when I’m having a good hair day, and I’m obsessed with the new Pantene Pro-V formula. The removal of silicone helps each wash last longer, so I don’t need to wash my hair every day which is great for just staying home or doing a quick style. It’s a life-saver!
