Launched in 1854 as a bespoke luggage brand, the namesake label of a carpenter’s son, it goes without saying that Louis Vuitton has come a long way – literally and figuratively – since its conception. Louis Vuitton: Volez, Voguez, Voyagez presents the luxury house’s journey in a celebration of the art of travel, touching on the brand’s long-standing relationship with Japan. In exotic surrounds, inspired by the locations Louis Vuitton luggage has travelled over the years, the extensive collection features bespoke trunks, monogrammed leather and archival drawings and photographs. The exhibition, held in Kiocho, Tokyo from April 23 to June 19 is as much homage Louis Vuitton’s founding visionaries as it is to the brand we know today.
