An instant classic – Louis Vuitton unveils its new GO-14 bag

Back in 2014, Nicolas Ghesquière launched the Louis Vuitton Malletage handbag, in what would be one of his first designs as creative director at the French luxury House. The Malletage, with its criss cross exterior, paid homage to the House's unique heritage by referencing the padded lining within the historical Louis Vuitton trunks. Now, almost a decade into his tenure at the helm of Louis Vuitton, the French-Belgian designer is revisiting those early days by unveiling an entirely new, yet not wholly unfamiliar handbag: the GO-14.

That crisscrossing motif once associated with the Malletage is reimagined into what will surely become an instant classic for the House. Lines intersect across the smooth and impossibly soft calf leather, while a gleaming LV Twist Lock separates the GO-14 from its predecessor. The result is an elegant bag, befitting all occasions, with its leather top handle and sliding chain, built to be worn both on the shoulder or crossbody.

So far we've witnessed actresses such as Léa Seydoux, HoYeon Jung, Gemma Chan and Cate Blanchett step out holding the GO-14. Soon enough, the GO-14 will be topping lists as one of the most popular bags of 2023.

Immediately, a key strength of the GO-14 is its versatility. The bag can function as a handheld clutch, can be tucked under the arm for nostalgic styling or can be strapped across the body for people on the go. For those eager to get their first IRL look at the GO-14, it will be available at Louis Vuitton boutiques in an array of varying sizes and colourways. Meaning there is something for both those fond of the mini bag trend and those seeking out an accessory that can pack all the essentials without a second thought.
