Cult eyewear label Local Supply has collaborated with Lara Worthington for the debut Lara x Local Supply collection. More than a year in the making, the collection features two distinct styles in versatile colourways inspired by muses Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and Zoë Kravitz.

The Lara x Local Supply collection was conceptualised alongside the brand’s designer, Petra Ekborn, throughout the entire creative process. As the former head of eyewear at Celine – during the reign of Phoebe Philo – and having worked at Dior under Raf Simons, Ekborn’s expertise worked in tandem with Worthington’s feedback on designs, materials and colours.

“Eyewear has long been an obsession of mine,” explains Worthington in a statement. “I love how a great pair of frames can be part of your signature look or can be switched up depending on your mood.”

Worthington also cites that she was drawn to Local Supply due to their longstanding commitment to sustainability and design, saying, “I chose to work with Local Supply because they’re an independent, Australian-owned business. I was drawn to their focus on sustainability and design-as well as their commitment to giving back to their local community.”

Lara x Local Supply comprises of two core shapes: the LW01 and LW02, the former inspired by sleek 90s cat-eye silhouettes and the latter a nod to the classic wayfarer silhouette reimagined with a contemporary edge. Mindfully made from plant-based frames and handcrafted using Mazzucchelli acetate, both styles are available in four colourways including black, burgundy, brown and grey.

Sean Satha, founder of Local Supply, says the partnership is an authentic collaboration between two likeminded creatives.

“We loved working with Lara on this collection – I feel like there was a strong alignment between us regarding brand values, product design and campaign creative, so it all felt very organic,” says Satha. “Lara was very open-minded and ready to push the boundaries creatively, which made this collaboration a lot of fun to work on as well.”
